Tirthan Valley

Tirthan Valley in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh is a wealth of nature's treasures. It derives its name from the Tirthan River, which winds its way through the valley. This tranquil valley is ideal for trekking, adventure, wildlife and discovering un-explored villages. Tirthan is a great getaway to connect with nature and unwind in solitude.

Information

Eligibility:

11 years and above. (Batch 01 to 03, 06 and 08 are also open for families).

Activities:

Trekking, Mountain biking, River crossing, Rappelling, Valley crossing, Bonfire, Group games, Forest trek, Trek to Chhoie Water Fall, Serolsar lake and visit to Jalori pass.

Accommodation:

Separate accommodation for boys and girls will be in tents on 4-6 sharing basis for students and on 4 sharing basis for families. . All tents are equipped with mattresses & sleeping bags/quilts, and have electricity. Western toilets & bathrooms will be available at the Campsite.

Please Carry:

Four/Five pairs of comfortable clothes, night dress, shorts, sweater, jacket, raincoat, bath towel, sports shoes, socks, sandals/floaters, woolen cap, woolen socks, hand gloves, sunglasses, neck rest, water bottle, torch, daypack, folding umbrella and toiletries (soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, sunscreen, cold cream, lip balm etc.). Also carry an original photo ID proof. The participants may have to pay fine, wherever applicable in the absence of original photo ID.

All The Items: mentioned should preferably be packed in a rucksack that is easier to carry. Please do not bring any disposable items, ornaments and other valuables. Binoculars and camera are optional.

Mobile Phones:

Are allowed but not during camp activities.

Food:

Wholesome and hygienic vegetarian food would be served. Special Jain/Swaminarayan food is also served, if mentioned in the application form.

Certificate:

A specially designed certificate will be issued to students who participate in all the activities & abide by all the Camp rules.

Medical Facilities:

Medical Facilities in the form of  First aid would be available throughout the programme. All emergencies would be treated by the nearest available doctor/medical facility. If any participant/s needs to be taken to a clinic or hospital, they will be responsible for covering the doctor's fee, medical expenses, transport charges, and any other related costs.

Itinerary

Depart in the morning from Sabarmati (BG) for Chandigarh by train in a 3 Ac Regular Coach.

Arrive Chandigarh in the morning and leave for Tirthan Campsite by AC Bus/tempo travellers. Arrive Campsite in the evening at around 20:00. Basic instructions & tent allotment.

Orientation meeting in the morning. This first gathering is very important as it would help the campers to understand the objectives & activities of the camp. Rappelling after breakfast. Short trek to Chhoie water falls after lunch.

Visit the GHNP Interpretation Centre in the morning to explore the region's biodiversity. After lunch, engage in river crossing, followed by fun games in the evening.

Full-day visit to Jalori Pass with packed lunch. Trek to the serene and picturesque Serolsar Lake and return to the camp by evening.

Visit the Himalayan Trout Fish Breeding Farm in the morning to learn about sustainable fish farming. Mountain biking and valley crossing activities after lunch. Concluding session in the evening and depart for Delhi.

Arrive Delhi in the morning. Transfer to a hotel for freshen up (Please note that no extra bed will be provided). Depart for Sabarmati (BG) by evening train in a 3 Ac Regular Coach.

Costing

Charges:

Charges are inclusive of accomodation, travelling from Vadodara / Ahmedabad (by different modes), food, activities and GST. 

From Ahmedabad by 3AC Train Journey Regular Coach 

Rs.25,700/- For Students (11-22 years)

Rs.27,700/- For Others (Above 22 years)

Rs.22,700/- For Child with Family (5 to 10 years)

Batch 01 to 03, 06 and 08 are also open for families.


Registration:

Registration: Please fill up the registration form and pay an advance of Rs. 10000/-  to confirm your booking along with a photocopy of your photo ID. The balance payment should reach our office at least 30 days before the commencement of the journey. Reservation is done on first come first served basis. Railway reservation will depend on the availability of tickets.
Cheques, NEFT/RTGS should be in favour of OUTDOORS UNLIMITED, payable at Vadodara only. 

A batch in any programme is subject to cancellation if the total numbers of participants is below 20.


Cancellation Charges:

Minimum : @10%

Between 30 & 15 days : @25%

Between 14 & 8 days : @50%

Last 7 days : No Refund

  • Cancellation charges will be applicable on total Program cost.

  • Please note that the booking is not transferable.

  • Please bring original receipt for claiming the refund.

In case of Government Lockdownbecause of Covid, the cancellation charges would be only Rs.1,000/-. Rest of the amount will be refunded. For any other reason, the regular cancellation policy will be applied.
