Tirthan Valley

Tirthan Valley in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh is a wealth of nature's treasures. It derives its name from the Tirthan River, which winds its way through the valley. This tranquil valley is ideal for trekking, adventure, wildlife and discovering un-explored villages. Tirthan is a great getaway to connect with nature and unwind in solitude.

Information

Eligibility:

11 years and above. (Batch 01 to 05, 09 & 11 are also open for families.).

Activities:

Trekking, Mountain biking, River crossing, Rappelling, Valley crossing, Bonfire, Group games, Forest trek, Trek to Chhoie Water Fall, Serolsar lake and visit to Jalori pass.

Accommodation:

Separate accommodation for boys and girls will be in tents on 4-6 sharing basis for students and on 4 sharing basis for families. . All tents are equipped with mattresses & sleeping bags/quilts, and have electricity. Western toilets & bathrooms will be available at the Campsite.

Please Carry:

Five pairs of comfortable clothes, night dress, shorts, sweater, jacket, raincoat, bath towel, sports shoes, socks, sandals/floaters, woolen cap, woolen socks, hand gloves, sunglasses, neck rest, water bottle, torch, daypack, folding umbrella and toiletries (soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, sunscreen, cold cream, lip balm etc.). Also carry an original photo ID proof. The participants may have to pay fine, wherever applicable in the absence of original photo ID.

All The Items: mentioned should preferably be packed in a rucksack that is easier to carry. Please do not bring any disposable items, ornaments and other valuables. Binoculars and camera are optional.

Mobile Phones:

Are allowed but not during camp activities.

Food:

Wholesome and hygienic vegetarian food would be served. Special Jain/Swaminarayan food is also served, if mentioned in the application form.

Certificate:

A specially designed certificate will be issued to students who participate in all the activities & abide by all the Camp rules.

Medical Facilities:

Medical Facilities in the form of  First aid would be available throughout the programme. All emergencies would be treated by the nearest available doctor/medical facility. If any participant/s needs to be taken to a clinic or hospital, they will be responsible for covering the doctor's fee, medical expenses, transport charges, and any other related costs.

Itinerary

TENTATIVE ITINERARY - REGULAR 3AC COACH

Depart from Gandhinagar Capital in the morning by train, traveling in a 3 AC Regular Coach to Chandigarh.

Arrive in Chandigarh in the morning and proceed towards the Tirthan campsite by AC bus or tempo travellers. Reach the campsite around 20:00, followed by basic instructions and tent allotment.

Begin the day with an orientation meeting, an important session that helps participants understand the camp’s objectives, guidelines, and activity schedule. After breakfast, engage in Rappelling. Post lunch, enjoy a scenic short trek to the beautiful Chhoie Waterfalls.

In the morning, visit the GHNP Interpretation Centre to explore and learn about the rich biodiversity of the Great Himalayan National Park region. After lunch, participate in river-crossing activities. The evening is reserved for fun group games.

Enjoy a full-day excursion to Jalori Pass with packed lunch. Trek to the serene and picturesque Serolsar Lake before returning to the campsite in the evening.

Mountain biking before breakfast. Visit the Himalayan Trout Fish Breeding Farm after breakfast to understand sustainable fish farming practices. After lunch, take part in and valley crossing. The day concludes with a concluding session in the evening.

Depart early at 05:00 for Chandigarh. Arrive in the evening and board the train to Gandhinagar Capital by 3 AC Regular Coach.

Arrive at Gandhinagar Capital at 15:05, marking the successful completion of the Himalayan Camp.


ALTERNATIVE ITINERARY - IF THE RETURN TRAIN IS FROM DELHI

Mountain biking before breakfast. Visit the Himalayan Trout Fish Breeding Farm after breakfast to understand sustainable fish farming practices. After lunch, take part in valley crossing followed by the concluding session. Depart for Delhi after dinner.

Arrive in Delhi in the morning and transfer to a hotel for freshening up (please note: no extra bed will be provided). In the evening, depart for Ahmedabad by 3 AC Regular Coach.

Arrive at Sabarmati (BG) in the morning, marking the successful completion of the Himalayan Camp.

Important Notes:
  • This is a tentative schedule and may change based on operational feasibility.
  • The final travel schedule will be provided two days before departure.
  • If railway tickets from Ahmedabad to Chandigarh are unavailable, the journey will be routed via Delhi.
  • If any camp activity is cancelled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, no refund will be provided.
  • Some adventure activities have a weight limit and may not be permitted for participants over 70 kg.

Charges:

Charges are inclusive of accomodation, travelling from Vadodara / Ahmedabad (by different modes), food, activities and GST. 

From Ahmedabad by 3AC Train Journey Regular Coach

Rs.23,200/- For Child with Family (5 to 10 years)

Registration:

Registration: Please fill up the registration form and pay an advance of Rs. 10000/-  to confirm your booking along with a photocopy of your photo ID. The balance payment should reach our office at least 30 days before the commencement of the journey. Reservation is done on first come first served basis. Railway reservation will depend on the availability of tickets.
Cheques, NEFT/RTGS should be in favour of OUTDOORS UNLIMITED, payable at Vadodara only. 

A batch in any programme is subject to cancellation if the total numbers of participants is below 20.


Cancellation Charges:

Minimum cancellation (before 65 days) : @ 05% of the total programme cost.

Between 65 to 31 days : @ 10% of the total programme cost.

Between 30 to 15 days : @ 25% of the total programme cost.

Between 14 & 8 days : @ 50% of the total programme cost.

Last 7 days or No Show : No Refund


Cancellation charges will be applicable on total Program cost.
