Bhrigu Lake, perched at an altitude of 14,100 ft near Manali in Himachal Pradesh, is one of the most enchanting short treks in the Himalayas. The trail is famous for its endless rolling meadows, spectacular mountain views, and the high-altitude glacial lake that changes colors with the season. According to legend, Sage Bhrigu meditated here, making the lake sacred to the locals.

This trek is perfect for beginners as well as seasoned trekkers, offering a complete Himalayan experience — alpine forests, wildflower-filled grasslands, breathtaking campsites, and a rewarding climb to the shimmering Bhrigu Lake.

Bhrigu Lake (14,100 ft):

The highlight of the trek — a sacred alpine glacial lake surrounded by majestic Himalayan peaks.

Himalayan Views:

Expansive alpine grasslands that begin early on the trail, unlike many treks where meadows appear only after long forest climbs, offering wide-open views from the very start.

Mythological Significance:

Said to be the meditation site of Sage Bhrigu, adding a spiritual touch to the adventure.

Accommodation:

Separate accommodation for boys and girls will be arranged on a 3–4 sharing basis in a hotel at Manali. At Moridugh, participants will stay in tents equipped with sleeping bags. Detached toilet facilities will be available at the campsite.

Please Carry:

Six pairs of comfortable clothes, night dress, bath towel, trekking shoes, socks, sandals/floaters, sweater, jacket, raincoat, thermals, woollen cap, woollen socks, gloves, air-pillow, water bottle, head lamp, daypack, folding umbrella, water-proof shoe bag, trekking pole (optional) and toiletries (soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, sunscreen, cold cream, lip balm etc.). Also carry an original photo ID proof. The participants may have to pay fine, wherever applicable in the absence of original photo ID.

All the Items mentioned should preferably be packed in a rucksack that is easier to carry. Please do not bring any disposable items, ornaments and other valuables. Binoculars and camera are optional.

Certificate:

A specially designed certificate will be issued to successful participants.

Food:

Wholesome and hygienic vegetarian food will be served. Jain Food will be available on prior request at the campsite but the same cannot be guaranteed during the Journey. Two bottles of drinking water per day will be provided during the train journey.

Medical Facilities:

In the form of First aid would be available throughout the programme. All emergencies would be treated by the nearest available doctor/medical facility. If any participant/s needs to be taken to a clinic or hospital, they will be responsible for covering the doctor's fee, medical expenses, transport charges, and any other related costs.

Itinerary

The journey begins from Sabarmati (BG) as you board the 3AC train to Delhi, either in the morning or evening as scheduled. This marks the start of the exciting expedition ahead.

After arriving in Delhi, the group proceeds to a hotel to freshen up and relax for a while (note: no extra bed will be provided). Later in the evening, everyone boards a bus for Manali, enjoying an overnight ride through beautiful northern landscapes.

The group reaches Manali in the morning. Check in at a hotel. After breakfast, an important orientation meeting is conducted where participants learn about the objectives, safety instructions, and overall plan of the expedition. After lunch, everyone heads out for a refreshing trek to Jogini Falls, a scenic trail that helps participants acclimatize and experience the beauty of Manali’s surroundings.

After freshening up, drive to Kulang, the trek’s starting point. Follow an ancient British-era route through dense forests as you ascend to Moridugh. The scenic trail offers breathtaking views and leads to a campsite at 9500 ft, where you can capture stunning sunset photographs against the Dhauladhar range. Overnight stay at the campsite.

The day starts early with a trek to the stunning Bhrigu Lake at 14100 feet, known for its breathtaking views and peaceful environment. This trail offers panoramic views of the Dhauladhar Range, including Hanuman Tibba (5928m), Manali Peak, and Friendship Peak. Expect snow-covered paths, adding an adventurous touch to the journey. Upon reaching Bhrigu Lake, spend time admiring the serene waters, capturing photographs, and embracing the sacred atmosphere before trekking back to the campsite. End the day with a bonfire and a cozy overnight stay.

After breakfast, begin your descent from Moridugh to Kulang village, retracing the scenic route from the first day. The downhill trek takes approximately 3 hours, offering one last chance to soak in the lush forests and mountain views. Upon reaching Kulang village, a vehicle will be ready to drive you back to Manali, marking the end of an unforgettable adventure filled with stunning landscapes and cherished memories. Check in at the hotel and rest.

Check out in the morning and enjoy free time for shopping, sightseeing, or leisure time in Manali. You can explore the local market, pick up souvenirs, or enjoy the pleasant weather. In the evening, the group starts its bus journey back to Delhi, marking the beginning of their return trip.
 

Upon reaching Delhi in the morning, proceed to a hotel to freshen up (no extra bed provided). After resting, they board the train for Sabarmati (BG) in the evening.

The group reaches Sabarmati (BG) in the morning, concluding a memorable and enriching expedition filled with adventure, learning, and unforgettable moments.

Important Notes:

  • This is a tentative schedule and may change based on operational feasibility.
  • The final travel schedule will be provided two days before departure
  • If any scheduled activity is cancelled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, no refund will be provided.
  • This is a wilderness trek in the Himalayas, not a comfort-based nature camp. Please join only if you are ready to embrace the raw beauty of nature, ready to adapt in any condition, expect least facilities and push your limits—both physically and mentally.

Charges:

Charges are inclusive of accomodation, travelling from Vadodara / Ahmedabad (by different modes), food, activities and GST.

Registration: 

Please fill up the registration form and pay an advance of Rs. 10000/-  to confirm your booking along with a photocopy of your photo ID. The balance payment should reach our office at least 30 days before the commencement of the journey. Reservation is done on first come first served basis. Railway reservation will depend on the availability of tickets.


Cheques, NEFT/RTGS should be in favour of OUTDOORS UNLIMITED, payable at Vadodara only. 

A batch in any programme is subject to cancellation if the total numbers of participants is below 20.


Cancellation Charges:

Minimum cancellation (before 65 days) : @ 05% of the total programme cost.

Between 65 to 31 days : @ 10% of the total programme cost.

Between 30 to 15 days : @ 25% of the total programme cost.

Between 14 & 8 days : @ 50% of the total programme cost.

Last 7 days or No Show : No Refund
