The Pindari Glacier Trek is a perfect blend of adventure, nature, and Himalayan culture. Taking you through remote villages, lush forests, and alpine meadows, this trek offers breathtaking views of some of the most stunning peaks in Uttarakhand.

Key Attractions:

Khati Village (2,210 meters / 7,251 feet),:

The trek starts and ends at Khati Village (2,210 meters / 7,251 feet), the last road-accessible village on this route. The total trekking distance is around 50 km (round trip) from Khati. Khati is the last motorable village on this trek.

Himalayan Peaks:

On the way, trekkers pass through Dhoor Village (2,500 meters / 8,202 feet), from where they can witness breathtaking views of Nanda Kot (6,861 meters / 22,510 feet), Maiktoli (6,803 meters / 22,320 feet), and Panwali Dwar (6,663 meters / 21,860 feet).

Zero Point:

The trail further leads through Phurkiya (3,250 meters / 10,663 feet), the last settlement before reaching Pindari Zero Point (3,660 meters / 12,008 feet), where the mighty Pindari Glacier unfolds its grandeur.

Himalayan Landscape:

The journey is enriched with crossings over wooden bridges, walks alongside glacial streams, and serene landscapes that make this trek a rewarding experience for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike

Accommodation

Comfortable separate accommodation for boys & girls will be on 3/4 sharing basis in Hotel / Guest House / Homestay.

Please Carry

Six pairs of comfortable clothes, shorts or comfortable fit track pants (for rafting), night dress, bath towel, sports shoes, socks, sandals/floaters, sweater, jacket, raincoat, thermal, woollen cap, woollen socks, gloves, air-pillow, water bottle, torch, daypack, string for spectacles, carry bag for wet/soiled cloths, water-proof shoe bag and toiletries (soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, sunscreen, cold cream, lip balm etc.). Also carry an original photo ID proof. The participants may have to pay fine, wherever applicable in the absence of original photo ID.

All the Items: mentioned should preferably be packed in a rucksack that is easier to carry. Please do not bring any disposable items, ornaments and other valuables. Binoculars and camera are optional.

Registration

Please fill up the registration form and pay an advance of Rs. 10000/-  to confirm your booking along with a photocopy of your photo ID. The balance payment should reach our office at least 30 days before the commencement of the journey. Reservation is done on first come first served basis. Railway reservation will depend on the availability of tickets.

Food

Wholesome and hygienic vegetarian food would be served. Special Jain/Swaminarayan food is also served, if mentioned in the application form.

Certificate

A specially designed certificate will be issued to students who participate in all the activities & abide by all the Camp rules.

Medical Facilities

Medical facilities in the form of  First aid would be available throughout the programme. All emergencies would be treated by the nearest available doctor/medical facility. If any participant/s needs to be taken to a clinic or hospital, they will be responsible for covering the doctor's fee, medical expenses, transport charges, and any other related costs.

Itinerary

The journey begins from Vadodara as you board the 3AC train to reach Delhi in the morning. This marks the start of the exciting expedition ahead.

Upon arrival in Delhi in the morning, the group boards vehicle for the onward journey to Kathgodam / Bhimtal. Arrival at kathgodam / Bhimtal is expected in the evening, followed by room allotment, briefing and rest.

The adventure begins early in the morning with a the drive starting from Kathgodam. The drive itself is a scenic treat as we pass through Bhimtal, Almora, Bageshwar, Kapkot, Bharadi, and Dhoor, finally reaching Khati Village (2,210m) by evening. Khati is the last motorable village on this trek and has a deep-rooted history of welcoming trekkers and explorers. After settling into a cozy homestay, you’ll get a chance to meet your fellow trekkers over dinner. In the evening, our trek leader will brief the group about the upcoming trek, challenges, and safety tips to ensure a smooth journey ahead.

After an early breakfast at 7:00 AM, we start trekking towards Dwali (2,850m). This 13 km trail is a mix of gradual ascents and long stretches through dense oak and rhododendron forests, with the Pindar River flowing alongside. The trek may feel long, but the fresh mountain air and chirping birds make it an enjoyable walk. We will reach Dwali by 3:00-4:00 PM, where we will check into a guest house for the night. After a hot meal, it’s time to relax and soak in the beauty of the Himalayas.

A relatively shorter trek today! After a relaxed breakfast, we will leave for Phurkiya (3,250m) at 8:00 AM. The trail starts off easy but gets challenging towards the last 2 km, which involves a steep ascent before reaching Phurkiya.By midday, we will arrive at Phurkiya and enjoy a freshly prepared lunch. The rest of the day is for acclimatization, as we are now at a higher altitude. Enjoy the crisp mountain air, stunning landscapes, and the peaceful surroundings before dinner and a good night's rest.

This is the big day! We start early at 5:00 AM to reach Pindari Glacier Zero Point (3,660m) by early afternoon. The 8 km trail is gradual but long, offering mesmerizing views of the mountains. On the way, we will take a short break at the ashram of Shri Swami Shraddha Nand Ji Maharaj, a peaceful spiritual retreat in the high Himalayas. As we approach Zero Point, the mighty Pindari Glacier comes into full view, surrounded by towering peaks like Baljuri (5,922m), Nanda Kot (6,861m), and Panwali Dwar (6,663m). After spending some time at the glacier, we will have our packed lunch before starting the return journey to Phurkiya. We aim to reach back by early evening, followed by dinner and an overnight stay in the guest house.

After breakfast, we begin our descent from Phurkiya to Dwali and then continue back to Khati Village. The 18 km trek will take us through familiar yet still mesmerizing landscapes. We will take a lunch break at Dwali or carry a packed lunch, depending on the group’s pace. By late evening, we reach Khati Village, where we’ll settle into our homestay for one last night in the mountains. A farewell dinner awaits as we celebrate completing the trek together.
 

After breakfast, we say goodbye to the mountains and begin our drive back to Kathgodam. The journey through the scenic valleys of Uttarakhand will give you time to reflect on this incredible experience. We expect to reach Kathgodam by late afternoon, marking the end of this unforgettable adventure.

Check out early in the morning and drive back to Delhi. Upon reaching Delhi proceed to railway station) to board the train for Vadodara in the evening.

The group reaches Vadodara early in the morning, concluding a memorable and enriching expedition filled with adventure, learning, and unforgettable moments.

  • If any scheduled activity is cancelled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, no refund will be provided.
  • This is a wilderness trek in the Himalayas, not a comfort-based nature camp. Please join only if you are ready to embrace the raw beauty of nature, ready to adapt in any condition, expect least facilities and push your limits—both physically and mentally.

Charges are inclusive of accommodation, travelling from Vadodara (by different modes), food, activities and GST.

A batch in any programme is subject to cancellation if the total number of participants is below 20.


Cancellation Charges:

Minimum cancellation (before 65 days) : @ 05% of the total programme cost.

Between 65 to 31 days : @ 10% of the total programme cost.

Between 30 to 15 days : @ 25% of the total programme cost.

Between 14 & 8 days : @ 50% of the total programme cost.
