Kedarkantha, situated in the Tons river valley of the Garhwal Himalayas is a beautiful ridge peak, easily accessible anytime of the year. The trek goes through the Govind National Park and gives you ample time to soak in the flora and fauna of this protected area. The summit lies at an altitude of 3850 m and reaching the top is very satisfying as you are rewarded with views of peaks like the Swargarohini, Banderpooch, Kalanag and Ranglana. Kedarkantha is a perfect blend of adventure, natural beauty and cultural richness. Whether you are a seasoned trekker or a beginner, the Kedarkantha trek offers an unforgettable experience with its captivating views, serene environment, and the thrill of summiting a Himalayan peak. Kedarkantha Summit: The Kedarkantha peak stands at an elevation of about 12,500 feet above sea level. The trek to the summit is around 20 kilometers, starting from the base village of Sankri. The summit offers a panoramic view of the snow-clad Himalayan ranges, including Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, and Black Peak.

Charming Villages: The trek passes through quaint villages like Sankri and Juda Ka Talab, where trekkers can experience the traditional lifestyle of the local communities. These villages, with their rustic charm, offer a glimpse into the rich culture and hospitality of the region.

Scenic Beauty: The trek is renowned for its stunning landscapes, which include dense pine and oak forests, open meadows, and snow-covered paths. During winter, the entire trail is blanketed in snow, adding to the magical experience. The clear night skies during the trek are perfect for stargazing.

Juda Ka Talab: A picturesque lake en route to the summit, Juda Ka Talab is a serene spot surrounded by thick forests and offers a peaceful retreat for trekkers. The lake often freezes during the winter, creating a surreal and tranquil environment.

Eligibility:  14 years onwards. 
 
Camp Accommodation:  Separate accommodation for boys & girls will be in rooms on 4/5 sharing basis at Rishikesh and Sankri. At rest of the places accommodation will be in tents, equipped with sleeping bags on triple sharing basis. There will be detached toilets at the campsite.
 
Please Carry: Six pairs of comfortable clothes, night dress, bath towel, sports shoes, socks, sandals/floaters, sweater, jacket, raincoat, thermal, woollen cap, woollen socks, gloves, air-pillow, water bottle, torch, daypack, folding umbrella, water-proof shoe bag and toiletries (soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, sunscreen, cold cream, lip balm etc.). Also carry an original photo ID proof. The participants may have to pay fine, wherever applicable in the absence of original photo ID.
 
All The Items: mentioned should preferably be packed in a rucksack that is easier to carry. Please do not bring any disposable items, ornaments and other valuables. Binoculars and camera are optional.
 
Cell Phones: are allowed but not during activities.
 
Registration: Please fill up the registration form and pay an advance of Rs. 10000/-  to confirm your booking along with a photocopy of your photo ID. The balance payment should reach our office at least 30 days before the commencement of the journey. Reservation is done on first come first served basis. Railway reservation will depend on the availability of tickets.

 
Certificate:  A specially designed certificate will be issued to students who participate in all the activities & abide by all the Camp rules.
 
Food:  Wholesome and hygienic vegetarian food would be served. Special Jain/Swaminarayan food is also served, if mentioned in the application form.
 
Medical Facilities  in the form of  First aid would be available throughout the programme. All emergencies would be treated by the nearest available doctor/medical facility. If any participant/s needs to be taken to a clinic or hospital, they will be responsible for covering the doctor's fee, medical expenses, transport charges, and any other related costs.

Please note the following points:

  • The route may change on the last moment if the weather conditions are not favourable.

  • If the trip gets abandoned after departure due to unfavourable weather conditions, no refund will be given.

  • All treks are subject to weather condition.

Itinerary

Depart from Sabarmati (BG) for Delhi in the evening by train in a 3 AC Regular Coach.

Arrive Delhi in the morning and depart for Rishikesh by AC vehicle. Check into a hotel. Enjoy the enchanting Ganga Aarti in the evening.

After breakfast, depart for Sankri (1,950 m), a scenic 8–10-hour drive through beautiful mountain landscapes and charming villages. Arrive at Sankri by late evening and settle into your accommodation.

Begin your trek to Juda Ka Talab (2,774 m), a serene lake surrounded by dense pine forests. The trek is moderate and takes about 3–4 hours. Spend the evening enjoying the tranquil surroundings and relaxing at the campsite.

Trek from Juda Ka Talab to Kedarkantha Base Camp (3,429 m). The 2–3-hour trek offers stunning views of snow-covered peaks and lush greenery. Spend the evening acclimatizing and taking in the breathtaking scenery.

Start early with a trek to the Kedarkantha Summit (3,810 m), a 2–3-hour climb, with packed breakfast. Witness panoramic views from the summit before descending to Sankri (4–5 hrs). Arrive at Sankri by evening and unwind.

After breakfast, drive to Mussoorie, enjoying the scenic journey. Arrive by evening, check into your hotel, and explore the bustling Mall Road to shop and experience the local vibe.

Depart for Delhi with packed breakfast. Arrive Delhi in the evening and depart for Sabarmati (BG) / Vadodara by 3 Ac Train.

Charges are inclusive of accomodation, travelling from Vadodara / Ahmedabad (by different modes), food, activities and GST.

A batch in any programme is subject to cancellation if the total numbers of participants is below 20.

Between 30 & 15 days : @25%
Between 14 & 8 days : @50%
Last 7 days : No Refund

Cancellation charges will be applicable on total Program cost.

  • Please bring original receipt for claiming the refund.

In case of Government Lockdownbecause of Covid, the cancellation charges would be only Rs.1,000/-. Rest of the amount will be refunded. For any other reason, the regular cancellation policy will be applied.
