KUFRI :
Surrounded by Shimla town at one side and spectacular snow capped Himalayan ranges on the other, at an elevation of 6000 ft., Kufri a small town in Himachal offers Alpine camping experience. Those who go and explore it only know the power and mystery of this unusual and unbelievable landscape. With guidance from experienced instructors, you will feel independence and responsibility as you navigate by map and compass, serve as you navigate by map and compass, serve as a leader for a day or work on camp craft skills.

Eligibility:

*Students ( 11 to 22 yrs)
*Others (Above 22 yrs) Only Batch No. 03,07,08 & 09 are open for families / adults.


Activities: Navigation trekking through map reading, Bush Craft, Double Rope Crossing, Burma Bridge, Rock climbing, Rappelling, Treasure Hunt and Campfire.

Accommodation will be in Eco - Huts with attached washrooms, separate for girls and boys.

Please Carry: Four pairs of cau clothes, one pair warm clothes, towel, canvas / sports shoes, cotton socks, slippers, torch, cap, water bag and sanitary requisites. Sleeping bags and Dinner Set will be provided at the campsite. Please carry sleeping material for Non AC Train Journey.

All the Items mentioned should preferably be packed in a rucksack that is easier to carry. Please do not bring plastic/polythene bags or any disposable items, ornaments, cell phone and other valuables. Binoculars and camera are optional.

Certificate: A specially designed certificate will be issued to students who participate in all the activities & abide by all the Camp rules.

Food: Wholesome and hygienic vegetarian food will be served. Jain food will be available on prior request at the campsite but the same cannot be guaranteed during the journey. Two bottles of drinking water per day will be provided during the train journey.

Essential Medical: Facilities in the form of first aid would be available at the campsite. All emergences would be treated by the nearest available doctor/medical facility.

Mobile Phones: Are allowed during travelling & only inside the tent at the campsite. Mobile Photography is strictly prohibited.

Please Submit: A Photocopy of the Photo ID proof at the time of registration and the same original Photo ID proof, seven days before departure. The participants may have to pay fine, wherever applicable in the absence of original Photo ID.

Please Note: Road journey in all the programmes would be in Non Ac vehicles.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE (For Batch No. 01, 04, 05, 06, 11 & 12)

Day 01: Depart for Delhi / Chandigarh by train.
Day 02: Arrive Delhi/Chandigarh in the morning/noon and leave for Kufri -Shimla by 3x2 Non Ac luxury bus. Arrive Campsite at around 9.00 pm. Basic instructions, Eco hut allotment, and dinner.
Day 03: Orientation meeting, breakfast, Valley crossing & Bush Craft /Burma bridge in two groups in the morning. Group will inter change after lunch.
Day 04: Rock climbing & Rappelling / Double rope crossing and treasure hunt in the morning. Group will inter change after lunch.
Day 05: Trek to Kufri Nature park in the morning. Navigation trek through map reading after lunch.
Day 06: Concluding session in the morning. Visit Shimla town after lunch. Depart for Delhi after dinner.
Day 07: Arrive Delhi / Chandigarh in the morning and leave for Ahmedabad by train in the afternoon.
Day 08: Arrive Ahmedabad in the morning.

* If we do not get the tickets in a direct train, from Ahmedabad we may go via Udaipur.
* Final travel schedule will be ready 2 days before the departure.

Day 01: Depart for Jalandhar by train in the morning.
Day 02: Arrive Jalandhar in the noon and leave for Kufri -Shimla by 3x2 Non Ac luxury bus. Arrive Campsite at around 11.00 pm. Basic instructions, Eco hut allotment, and dinner.
Day 03: Orientation meeting, breakfast, Valley crossing & Bush Craft /Burma bridge in two groups in the morning. Group will inter change after lunch.
Day 04: Rock climbing & Rappelling / Double rope crossing and treasure hunt in the morning. Group will inter change after lunch.
Day 05: Trek to Kufri Nature park in the morning. Navigation trek through map reading after lunch.
Day 06: Concluding session in the morning. Visit Shimla town after lunch. Depart for Pathankot after dinner.
Day 07: Arrive Pathankot in the morning and leave for Ahmedabad by train in the morning.
Day 08: Arrive Ahmedabad in the afternoon.

* Please note that Batch No. 02 will Going via Delhi in regular 3 Ac train.
* Please note that Batch No. 10 will return via Delhi in regular 3 Ac train.
* If we do not get the tickets in a direct train, from Ahmedabad we may go via Udaipur.

Day 02: Arrive Campsite at around 9.00 am. Basic instructions, Eco hut allotment, Orientation meeting, breakfast, Valley crossing & Bush Craft /Burma bridge in two groups in the morning. Group will inter change after lunch.
Day 03: Rock climbing & Rappelling / Double rope crossing and treasure hunt in the morning. Group will inter change after lunch.
Day 04: Trek to Kufri Nature park in the morning. Navigation trek through map reading after lunch.
Day 05: Concluding session in the morning. Visit Shimla town after lunch. Depart for Delhi after dinner.
Day 06: Arrive Delhi in the morning and leave for Ahmedabad by flight in the afternoon. Arrive Ahmedabad in the afternoon.

Charges:
Our charges are inclusive of accomodation, travelling from Vadodara / Ahmedbad (by different modes), food, service charges and GST. All charges are per person.

Registration:
Please fill up the registration form and pay an advance of Rs. 6000/- for 3 AC Train Journey & Rs. 8000/- for Flight journey to confirm your booking. The balance payment should reach our office at least 30 days before the commencement of the journey. Reservation is done on first come first served basis. Railway reservation will depend on the availability of tickets.

Package Cost Includes
All meals during the camp / tour (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner). Transfers & sightseeing as mentioned in the itinerary by Non-A/c Vehicle. Accommodation in Tents. Assistance on arrival.

Package Cost Does Not Include
Any meals other than those mentioned above. Any Hotel tips, Room Service, Laundry, Mineral water, Telephone charges and all items of personal nature and meals and drinks not specified in the inclusions. Any services not specifically mentioned in the inclusions. Camera fees wherever applicable. Ropeway/Boating charges wherever applicable. In case if any sightseeing place is cancelled or rescheduled, due to any unforeseen reasons, no refund will be given for that.

Cheques or DD should be in favour of OUTDOORS UNLIMITED, payable at VADODARA only.

Cancellation Charges*:

Minimum : @10%
Between 30 & 15 days : @25%
Between 14 & 8 days : @50%
Last 7 days : No Refund

* Cancellation charges will be applicable on total Program cost.
* Please note that the booking is not transferable.
* Please bring original receipt for claiming the refund.

  • Jain food will be provided on demand as per availability.
  • The amount once paid is non transferable.
  • The balance payment is to be paid atleast 30 days before the departure of the batch. If balance payment is not made on time it would automatically be considered cancelled without any prior intimation and no refund would be given in this regard.
  • Local Cheque/Demand Draft should be issued in favour of OUTDOORS UNLIMITED 
  • Outstation cheque would not be accepted.
  • Payment against dishonored cheque/s to be paid in cash with additional charge of Rs.200/- per cheque.
  • No refund will be given in case the participant terminates the tour at any point due to any reason.
  • According to the strength of the group proper vehicle would be arranged and that should be acceptable to all.
  • Participants will have to walk to visit the places that are near to the hotel or where our vehicle cannot reach.
  • Please do not bring valuables in the tour. It will be participant’s duty to take care of their own luggage. Company is not liable for any kind of theft, loss or damage to your luggage.
  • At any point during the tour if any damage is done to the hotel property or bus or at any other point knowingly or unknowingly by any participant the responsible participant will have to bear the total damage charges and will have to settle it on the spot.
  • Tour may be cancelled if there is not enough strength, actual amount paid by the participant towards the trip will be refunded by A/c payee cheque only.  No other claims will be entertained.
  • It is the responsibility of participant to collect the necessary travel documents from our office on time.
  • The organisers or any individual connected with it will not be held responsible in case of any accident or any unforeseen natural calamity.
  • The Company reserves the unconditional right to refuse a booking/terminate a passenger on tour in event of unreasonable behaviour at any time.
  • The Company has the right at any time and for any reason to amend, alter, vary or withdraw/substitute a hotel, travel arrangement or independent contractor for the reasons, which may be deemed fit and proper by the Company. The passengers shall have no rights to raise any dispute regarding the same.
  • In case if the tour days increases due to any unforeseen circumstances, the participants will have to pay Rs.400/- per head per day in cash to the tour manager.
  • Outdoors Unlimited has the right to use the participant's name, information and photographs in promotional materials, brochures and press releases.
  • In case if any rescue operation is to be undertaken, it will be charged from the participants on actual basis.
  • In case if the tour is cancelled or abandoned due to any unforeseen circumstances, no refund would be given.
  • Organisers will not be responsible towards any internal disputes arising with fellow participants.
  • Any claim or complaint by the passenger must be notified to the Company in writing within ten days after the tour completion date. No claim notified to the Company outside this period will be entertained and the Company shall incur no liability in respect thereof. 
  • If the passenger has any complaint in respect of services provided by any of the independent contractors, the passenger shall immediately notify the same to the independent contractor and a copy thereof should be handed over to the tour manager, to enable the Company to take up the matter with the independent contractor.
  • The signing of the booking form by the passengers shall mean acceptance in totality of the ‘Terms and Conditions’ contained herein by the passengers. In case of one or more, but not all passengers signing the ‘Booking Form’, it shall be deemed that the others have duly authorized the concerned signing passenger.
  • Disputes, if any, will be subject to jurisdiction of VADODARA courts only.

Reporting

  • Please mark your attendance with the Group Leader at the Railway Station at the time and date given in the itinerary.
  • Do not board the Train without Reporting.
  • Itinerary is only for Parents’ reference, Participants should carry only the lower slip of the Itinerary.

Train Journey

  • Campers should not get down during the train journey at any station.
  • In case of any requirement, the group leader should be informed.
  • Campers are requested not to stand near the Door of the train.
  • Campers should avoid talking to Strangers.

Camp Site

  • Campers will stay in waterproof all weather canvas tents.
  • There will be separate accommodation for Girls and Boys.
  • Campsite is near Gaushal village, about 5 km from the main town.

Food

  • Wholesome & Hygienic vegetarian Food will be served, including Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
  • In train, we generally provide the Train Food.
  • Participants have to manage drinking water on their own during the journey.
  • Special Jain / Swaminarayan food is also served at the campsite if mentioned in the application form. However, the same cannot be guaranteed during the journey.

Toilet Facilities

  • Toilets will be of make-shift kind (Tent Toilet) with Western Commode, Flush & Jet Spray. Separate for Boys & Girls.
  • Please Help to Maintain Proper Hygiene.
  • Bathing Facilities
  • There will be make-shift kind of Bathrooms (Tent Bathroom) for Bathing with running water.
  • Hot water will be available between 6 and 7 in the morning on all days.
  • Weather usually the day temperature is pleasant but in case of rains, it may go down. Nights would be cold.
  • The Weather in the Himalayas is very unpredictable. It is advisable to carry enough woolens & Rain coat.

Safety & Discipline

  • The campers will be escorted by trained group leaders from Ahmedabad to the campsite & back.
  • There will be at least one female group leader in each batch.
  • Apart from these group leaders there will be enough people to look after them at the campsite.
  • All the adventure activities are done under the supervision of professional instructors and with all safety measures.
  • The campsite is a safe place & we have an excellent rapport with the local people.
  • We are very strict with ourselves and campers. For safety reasons, the campers are not allowed to go out of the campsite without escorts.

Communication

  • We do not have a telephone at the campsite. But the campers will get a chance to call up at home during their visit to the town.
  • Please do not send mobile phones because it’s part of the learning.
  • Parents will be updated about the whereabouts of the campers via SMS every day.
  • Same updates can also be checked on our website, in case you may not receive SMS due to any technical problem.
  • Our Camp Director will be constantly in touch with ANALA office, so in case of any inquiry, you may contact our office on 079-26442289 or 079 26561359 (10:30 am to 08:00 pm.).

Emergency

  • In case of an emergency, Parents may contact us on 09662299016/21 (08 pm to 10:30 am.)
  • First – Aid kit will be available with the group leader throughout the programme.
  • Please do not give any extra medicines to the campers, unless, s/he is undergoing any specific treatment.
  • There is a doctor on call facility available for any medical emergency.

Photographs

  • We cannot do the photography for you but the participants are encouraged to bring their own cameras if they can take care of the same.

Things to be carried

  • A list of things to be carried is given in the brochure. Bring all the things accordingly.
  • Day-Pack, Water Bottle, Sports Shoes with proper grip, Warm Clothes, Sleeping Material, Goggles & Gloves are essential.
  • Campers are advised to pack all their material in an easy to handle Rucksack.
  • Please Tag all the belongings of the campers.

How Much Money

  • As such our charges include everything; still they may require some extra money for Shopping / Refreshments.
  • Give only as much as they can handle.

Please Note

  • Please submit an original Photo ID proof of the participant at least 1 week before the departure.
  • The participants may have to pay the fine, wherever applicable in the absence of original Photo ID.
  • Though proper care of the entire luggage is taken, we will not be responsible for any lost or damaged items.
  • We have a system of “Lost & Found” at the campsite.
  • Please pay the balance payment 15 days before the departure.
  • If you have not filled up the application form, do it at the earliest. The participant will not be allowed to indulge in any activity if the application form is not submitted.
  • The form contains space for special remarks from your side like sleep walking, allergy etc.
  • If you have not mentioned, please fill it up at least 7 days before the departure.

Certificate

  • A Specially designed certificate would be issued to all those campers who complete all the activities and abide by the Camp discipline.
