Manali is not for explanations, it should be experienced. With us, Manali becomes a Himalayan experience, to be remembered and cherished for a life time. The gurgling River Beas, the mighty snow clad mountains and symphony of the birds on the pine trees… the campsite itself is an amphitheatre. The campers would enjoy staying in the tents at heights of 6000 feet at base camp at Manali and 8000 feet at top camp.

Eligibility: for students of age group 11-22 years only.

Activities:
At Base Camp: Rock Climbing, Rappelling, Trekking to Jogini Falls, Manu Temple, Hadimba temple, Manali Village and more.
At Top Camp: Snow Crafting, trek to Solang Valley and attempt to Bhrighu Lake at 14,500 feet.

Accommodation: Six participants will share one alpine tent, separate for girls and boys. Western Toilets & bathrooms would be of make-shift kind.

Food: Wholesome and hygienic vegetarian food will be served. Jain Food will be available on prior request at the campsite but the same cannot be guaranteed during the Journey. Two bottles of drinking water per day will be provided during the train journey.

Please Submit: A Photocopy of the Photo ID proof at the time of registration and the same original Photo ID proof, seven days before departure. The participants may have to pay fine, wherever applicable in the absence of original Photo ID.

Please Note: Road journey in all the programmes would be in Non Ac vehicles.

Certificate: A specially designed certificate will be issued to students who participate in all the activities & abide by all the Camp rules.

Please Carry:
Four pairs of casual clothes, heavy woolens, raincoat, bath towel, sports shoes, socks, slippers/floaters, woolen cap, leather gloves, sunglasses, sleeping bag, water bag with strap, torch (carry extra batteries), sanitary requisites, day pack, note pad & pen. Sleeping bag will be provided at the campsite. Please carry sleeping material for Non-AC train journey.

All the Items mentioned should preferably be packed in a rucksack that is easier to carry. Please do not bring plastic/polythene bags or any disposable items, ornaments and other valuables. Binoculars and camera are optional.

Mobile Phones: Are allowed during travelling & only inside the tent at the campsite
. Mobile Photography is strictly prohibited.

TENTATIVE DAY-WISE SCHEDULE OF THE MANALI CAMP:

DAY 01: Depart from Ahmedabad for Pathankot in the morning by train.

DAY 02: Arrive Pathankot at 15:40. Transfer to a hotel(there will be a common hall with a partition in between for girls & boys) for freshen up and depart for Manali after dinner by 3x2 Non Ac luxury bus.

DAY 03: Arrival at the base camp at the height of about 6,000 ft. from sea level, in the morning. Allotment of tents, six persons per tent, separate for boys and girls. Orientation meeting: This first gathering is very important as it would help the campers to understand the objectives & activities of the camp. Evening trek to Nehrukund.

DAY 04: Half day trek to Jogini falls. A beautiful, magnificent waterfall from the height of roughly 700 ft. On way back, campers will have a bath at Vashisht hot water springs. The group will be back at the campsite for lunch. Introduction to rock-climbing and Rappelling in the afternoon (in two groups doing the activities vise versa)

DAY 05: Trek to Manu temple, Old Manali village and Hadimba temple, visit to the town for actual/window shopping. Back to the campsite in the evening. (Lunch can be taken at the town, on your own)

DAY 06: After Breakfast shift to top camp at Kulang at the height of about 8,000 ft from sea level, very close to the snow line. The group will leave the base camp early morning after breakfast and reach the top camp by lunch time. Orientation to the top camp and River crossing & Flying Fox after lunch.

DAY 07: Half day long trek to Solang Valley, one of the most beautiful valleys of the Western Himalaya. Here, the participants would come across snow cladded mountain peaks and a lot of picnickers doing activities like horse riding, zorbing ball. Campers will be back in Campsite for lunch. Afternoon will be of team games.

DAY 08: Your appointment with the snow. The campers will be introduced to different aspects of snow walking, snow climbing, sliding etc. or According to weather and snow condition camper will attempt to Bhrigu Lake (14500 ft.) with pack lunch.

DAY 09: After breakfast the group will leave towards the base camp for feed-back session, Certificate distribution, group photographs, packing up etc. Depart for Pathankot, after Lunch.

DAY 10: Arrive Pathankot in the morning and depart for Ahmedabad / Vadodara at 10:55.

DAY 11: Arrival Ahmedabad / Vadodara at 15:00.

* Final travel schedule will be ready 2 days before the departure.
* Please note that Batch No. 01 will go via Delhi and return via Delhi.
* Please note that Batch No. 02 & 03 will go via Delhi and return via Pathankot.
* Please note that Batch No. 13 & 14 will go via Pathankot and return via Delhi.
* If we do not get the tickets in direct train, fron Ahmedabad we may go via Udaipur.

How much?
Our charges are inclusive of accomodation, travelling from Ahmedabad (by different modes), food, service charges and GST. All charges are per person.

Registration:
Please fill up the registration form and pay an advance of Rs.3500/- for Non AC Train Journey and Rs. 6000/- for 3 AC Train Journey to confirm your booking. The balance payment should reach our office at least 30 days before the commencement of the journey. Reservation is done on first come first served basis.

Package Cost Includes:
All meals during the camp / tour (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner). Transfers & sightseeing as mentioned in the itinerary by Non-A/c Vehicle. Accommodation in Tents.

Package Cost Does Not Include:
Any meals other than those mentioned above. Any Hotel tips, Room Service, Laundry, Mineral water, Telephone charges and all items of personal nature and meals and drinks not specified in the inclusions. Any services not specifically mentioned in the inclusions. Camera fees wherever applicable. Ropeway/Boating charges wherever applicable. In case if any sightseeing place is cancelled or rescheduled, due to any unforeseen reasons, no refund will be given for that.
Cheques or DD should be in favour of OUTDOORS UNLIMITED, payable at VADODARA only.


Cancellation Charges*:
Minimum : @10%
Between 30 & 15 days : @25%
Between 14 & 8 days : @50%
Last 7 days : No Refund

* Please note that the booking is not transferable.
* Please bring original receipt for claiming the refund.

  • Jain food will be provided on demand as per availability.The amount once paid is non transferable.
  • The balance payment is to be paid at least 30 days before the departure of the batch. If balance payment is not made on time it would automatically be considered cancelled without any prior intimation and no refund would be given in this regard.
  • Local Cheque/Demand Draft should be issued in favour of OUTDOORS UNLIMITED. Outstation cheque would not be accepted.
  • Payment against dishonoured cheque/s to be paid in cash with additional charge of Rs.200/- per cheque.
  • No refund will be given in case the participant terminates the tour at any point due to any reason. According to the strength of the group proper vehicle would be arranged and that should be acceptable to all.
  • Participants will have to walk to visit the places that are near to the hotel or where our vehicle cannot reach.
  • Please do not bring valuables in the tour. It will be participant's duty to take care of their own luggage. Company is not liable for any kind of theft, loss or damage to your luggage.
  • At any point during the tour if any damage is done to the hotel property or bus or at any other point knowingly or unknowingly by any participant the responsible participant will have to bear the total damage charges and will have to settle it on the spot.
  • Tour may be cancelled if there is not enough strength; actual amount paid by the participant towards the trip will be refunded by A/c payee cheque only. No other claims will be entertained.
  • It is the responsibility of participant to collect the necessary travel documents from our office on time. The organisers or any individual connected with it will not be held responsible in case of any accident or any unforeseen calamity.
  • The Company reserves the unconditional right to refuse a booking/terminate a passenger on tour in event of unreasonable behaviour at any time.
  • The Company has the right at any time and for any reason to amend, alter, vary or withdraw/substitute a hotel, travel arrangement or independent contractor for the reasons, which may be deemed fit and proper by the Company. The passengers shall have no rights to raise any dispute regarding the same.
  • In case if the tour days increases due to any unforeseen circumstances, the participants will have to pay Rs.400/- per head per day in cash to the tour manager.
  • Outdoors Unlimited has the right to use the participant's name, information and photographs in promotional materials, brochures and press releases.
  • In case if any rescue operation is to be undertaken, it will be charged from the participants on actual basis.
  • In case if the tour is cancelled or abandoned due to any unforeseen circumstances, no refund would be given.
  • Organisers will not be responsible towards any internal disputes arising with fellow participants.
  • Any claim or complaint by the passenger must be notified to the Company in writing within ten days after the tour completion date. No claim notified to the Company outside this period will be entertained and the Company shall incur no liability in respect thereof.
  • If the passenger has any complaint in respect of services provided by any of the independent contractors, the passenger shall immediately notify the same to the independent contractor and a copy thereof should be handed over to the tour manager, to enable the Company to take up the matter with the independent contractor.
  • The signing of the booking form by the passengers shall mean acceptance in totality of the ‘Terms and Conditions’ contained herein by the passengers. In case of one or more, but not all passengers signing the ‘Booking Form’, it shall be deemed that the others have duly authorized the concerned signing passenger.
  • Disputes, if any, will be subject to jurisdiction of Vadodara courts only.

Reporting

  • Please mark your attendance with the Group Leader at the Railway Station at the time and date given in the itinerary.
  • Do not board the Train without Reporting.
  • Itinerary is only for Parents’ reference, Participants should carry only the lower slip of the Itinerary.

Train Journey

  • Campers should not get down during the train journey at any station.
  • In case of any requirement, the group leader should be informed.
  • Campers are requested not to stand near the Door of the train.
  • Campers should avoid talking to Strangers.

Camp Site

  • Campers will stay in waterproof all weather canvas tents.
  • There will be separate accommodation for Girls and Boys.
  • Campsite is near Gaushal village, about 5 km from the main town.

Food

  • Wholesome & Hygienic vegetarian Food will be served, including Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
  • In train, we generally provide the Train Food.
  • Participants have to manage drinking water on their own during the journey.
  • Special Jain / Swaminarayan food is also served at the campsite if mentioned in the application form. However, the same cannot be guaranteed during the journey.

Toilet Facilities

  • Toilets will be of make-shift kind (Tent Toilet) with Western Commode, Flush & Jet Spray. Separate for Boys & Girls.
  • Please Help to Maintain Proper Hygiene.
  • Bathing Facilities
  • There will be make-shift kind of Bathrooms (Tent Bathroom) for Bathing with running water.
  • Hot water will be available between 6 and 7 in the morning on all days.
  • Weather usually the day temperature is pleasant but in case of rains, it may go down. Nights would be cold.
  • The Weather in the Himalayas is very unpredictable. It is advisable to carry enough woolens & Rain coat.

Safety & Discipline

  • The campers will be escorted by trained group leaders from Ahmedabad to the campsite & back.
  • There will be at least one female group leader in each batch.
  • Apart from these group leaders there will be enough people to look after them at the campsite.
  • All the adventure activities are done under the supervision of professional instructors and with all safety measures.
  • The campsite is a safe place & we have an excellent rapport with the local people.
  • We are very strict with ourselves and campers. For safety reasons, the campers are not allowed to go out of the campsite without escorts.

Communication

  • We do not have a telephone at the campsite. But the campers will get a chance to call up at home during their visit to the town.
  • Please do not send mobile phones because it’s part of the learning.
  • Parents will be updated about the whereabouts of the campers via SMS every day.
  • Same updates can also be checked on our website, in case you may not receive SMS due to any technical problem.
  • Our Camp Director will be constantly in touch with ANALA office, so in case of any inquiry, you may contact our office on 079-26442289 or 079 26561359 (10:30 am to 08:00 pm.).

Emergency

  • In case of an emergency, Parents may contact us on 09662299016/21 (08 pm to 10:30 am.)
  • First – Aid kit will be available with the group leader throughout the programme.
  • Please do not give any extra medicines to the campers, unless, s/he is undergoing any specific treatment.
  • There is a doctor on call facility available for any medical emergency.

Photographs

  • We cannot do the photography for you but the participants are encouraged to bring their own cameras if they can take care of the same.

Things to be carried

  • A list of things to be carried is given in the brochure. Bring all the things accordingly.
  • Day-Pack, Water Bottle, Sports Shoes with proper grip, Warm Clothes, Sleeping Material, Goggles & Gloves are essential.
  • Campers are advised to pack all their material in an easy to handle Rucksack.
  • Please Tag all the belongings of the campers.

How Much Money

  • As such our charges include everything; still they may require some extra money for Shopping / Refreshments.
  • Give only as much as they can handle.

Please Note

  • Please submit an original Photo ID proof of the participant at least 1 week before the departure.
  • The participants may have to pay the fine, wherever applicable in the absence of original Photo ID.
  • Though proper care of the entire luggage is taken, we will not be responsible for any lost or damaged items.
  • We have a system of “Lost & Found” at the campsite.
  • Please pay the balance payment 15 days before the departure.
  • If you have not filled up the application form, do it at the earliest. The participant will not be allowed to indulge in any activity if the application form is not submitted.
  • The form contains space for special remarks from your side like sleep walking, allergy etc.
  • If you have not mentioned, please fill it up at least 7 days before the departure.

Certificate

  • A Specially designed certificate would be issued to all those campers who complete all the activities and abide by the Camp discipline.
